Working together for excellent healthcare in North Norfolk and rural Broadland

Patient Choice

As a patient, you have the right to choose where you receive the care you need.

If you need to go to the hospital for an operation or treatment, you can choose which one you would like to be treated at.  In some cases, you may be able to received treatment or care at a location in the community closer to where you live.

If you want to find out more you can read this leaflet or visit www.nhs.uk/patientchoice

Under the rights of the NHS Constitution for England and the NHS Patient Choices Framework, patients have the right to start consultant-led treatment within a maximum of 18 weeks, unless a patient chooses or it is clinically appropriate to wait longer.

More information about NHS waiting times can be found on the NHS Choices website.

NHS North Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group is keen to share information with its patients of community providers that may have shorter waiting times for procedures in comparison with other local providers in the region.

Across North Norfolk there are a number of independent providers available via Choose & Book who have been commissioned to deliver services in the community closer to where you live.

This information can be found in the If following file produced by NHS North Norfolk CCG in collaboration with NHS South Norfolk CCG: Patient Choice - Community Services.

If you would like more information about accessing these services, please discuss what would be best for you with your GP.
